Well this has to be the star of the collection. I can remember drooling over this as a kid in the toy shop and promising myself Id get one of those wonderful kits one day. Well as reality had it I only had to wait thirty years when for the opportunity to come along! The beast was a total wreck when I got it. Covered in a heavy Zimmerit covering and had been in a garage for the better part of twenty years. A family of Spiders had to be dislodged before work could commence on her. All the electrics had long since rotted and rusted away so a new digital speedo was installed and a new servo and after a few rocky starts she was ready to start prowling the hills of Dorking looking for some Shermans to eat!

The paint job on this beast nearly sent me insane. Due to Humbrols Gloss varnish for some reason not wanting to dry and staying tacky for weeks after it was put down the whole paint job had to be stripped right off at the last moment. Needless to say I now use the Tamiys gloss to fix my decals on. The camo was sprayed on using my untrustworthy Aztec and the spots were put down by spraying over a whole cut in a piece of paper. One spot at a time!. 8 cans of air later and many, many bad words it was done. The paint job on and off took nearly four weeks to complete. CLICK ON PICTURES TO ENLARGE

The grills come from Tankzone.co.uk and are etched brass. They really are a fantastic addition and seem a shame almost to put paint on them!. I cant reccomend them enough.

The figure comes from Dragons 1/18 prebuilt range as I cant be arsed to fanny around painting figures. The accessories like the belts and cloth etc are also from their Wiking division range.
